Featuring iconic ska tunes like Tommy McCook’s “Freedom Sounds” and vocal performances from The Gaylads, Lee Perry, and the Maytals, the collection features some of the earliest performances from the voices who would reach legendary status in the reggae and ska world. The Maytals’ tune “Heaven Declare” that fueled Jamaica’s dancehalls in the 1960s is featured on Ska Authentic and is streaming now HERE.
First released in 1964 on LP, Ska Authentic is one of the rarest albums in the entire Studio One catalog.
