Sugar Minott

Few artists enjoy the legendary status of Sugar Minott. The father of dancehall started his career at Studio One and ruled the airways with hits like “Oh Mr. D.C”, “Vanity”, and the sublime “Jah Jah Children”. Sugar introduced, through his Studio One recordings, a new way of singing that allowed a whole new generation of singers to flourish. Humble, he tried to enrich those around him and mentored so many others. There is only one Sugar Minott.
