Ken Boothe
Along with Alton Ellis, Ken Boothe is one of the great Rock Steady voices. He started his career in the early sixties in the duo Stranger & Ken with Wilburn Cole. He moved to Clement Dodd’s Studio One and recorded a few Ska sides with some success, but it was his later material that really resonated and he started enjoying a string of hits. He toured the UK with the Dodd led Soul Vendors apply named Mr. Rock Steady. His later success in the UK came with his cover of Bread’s Everything I Own, but his recordings at Studio One are considered some of his best.
