Wailing Souls

One of the great Roots groups the Wailing Souls recorded three albums for Studio One. The first in the mid-seventies, The Wailing Souls, contained some of the best work taken from their singles and till then unreleased material. Soul & Power followed in the 80s and was also a strong set featuring extended mixes of several songs. Square Deal, which featured new recordings, was released in 2003. By then the group featured Winston “Pipe” Matthews and Lloyd “Bread McDonald as the vocalists but the material remained at their usual high level.
