Hi,
I want to apologise to all at Studio One/Yep Roc involved with the S1 catalogue. I complained quite vehemently when you first restarted releasing music again because as a serious collector of the music, I’d heard that there were many more tracks in the vaults that had not seen the light of day. But you were releasing albums that any Studio 1 collector who cares, already owned. The lack of rarer stuff ate at me and I got quite upset about it, which once again I am sorry for. So, I want to give you credit where it is due. This From The Vaults Volume 2 album is a collectors’ dream and I respect you for digging deep – even deeper than the excellent volume one. One last thing, please reissue “Free Man” by Al & Freddy, which was only ever issued on a UK FAB blank label. When I spoke to Courtney at S1 (yes I’ve been there) in February 2017, he wasn’t exactly sure which tune it was – which is understandable as there are thousands of songs in the catalogue. But I’m sure Chris Wilson will know which tune I am talking about. I am very sincere with my apology as I am not a trouble maker, I am just passionate about the music and I want to hear it ALL! Take Care and please stay safe.

Hope the album and cd pop up on your webshop soon after the Record Store Day, so I can add this one to the rest of my evergrowing Studio One collection. If I have to look for a record shop here in Belgium that will have this one in stock on RSD, I’m afraid I’ll miss it….

One love
now (or from the end of august its the same…) in Italy (and maybe in the rest of the world) its very hard to find not this record but a record shop that sell reggae music…this kind of think: “Available worldwide on CD and vinyl LP for Record Store Day” means only: buy it at DISCOGS at near the double of the right price; is this correct?
If you love reggae and studio one please not do this! Never!
Thanks for the attention.

Picked this up and have never been so eager to get home and play a record. SO many great chunes that I’ve NEVER heard before. Dennis Brown – Macabee Version, Johnny Osbourne & Jennifer Lara – (who new they even recorded together?) TWO Larry Marshall chunes… The sound quality? Good and bad. MOST of the tracks on the LPs are good. Some better than others, all in stereo, none sound like the artists are in the room with me like some early Studio 1 pressings sound like, but it is very nice to have none of the usual hiss associated with a lot of Studio1 45 pressings. The 12″ is another story. The Sugar Minott track sounds like a bad mp3. I don’t remember if the other side is any good. I hope you all can get your hands on this!
